Joyful Start

The Pre-primary Institutions Social Work Service

Since 2011, we have provided stationing social work services for more than 30 pre-primary institutions. In 2019, we joined the “Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions” launched by the Social Welfare Department (SWD). With the principles of early identification and early intervention, we facilitate the collaboration between family, school, as well as social workers to provide service to meet the diversified needs of children and their families.

Service Rationale
  1. All children are unique. Our service enhances children’s development with respect, active listening, and inspiration.
  2. Positive development of children depends/relies on parent’s positive mind. We believe parents are able to self-help and become the life coach of their children.
  3. Close and secure parent-child relationship is the foundation of children growth and exploration.
  4. Life and development are full of challenges, while love and hope are the strengths to move forward.
Service Vision and Mission

1. Maintain a positive and joyful start of learning to nurture the emotionally healthy generation
2. Create a loving and caring school atmosphere to allow exploration, learning and development of children
3. Correspond to the various needs of children, and use diversified means and service models to instill love and hope
4. Facilitate the collaboration between family, school and social worker, and introduce resources for nurturing children, supporting families and child protection.

Service Characteristics
  1. Focus on the modern needs of children and families
  2. Values and beliefs of Christianity as foundation of service
  3. Non-labelling, preventive and strength-based as service strategies
  4. Link up family, school and community systems to nurture children and assist families
